Release Notes

New Content:

  • Smooth animations for all attacks

  • Elemental VFX updated for the teapot boss
  • Hitmarkers can now dissappear during attacks

Bug Fixes:

  • Fix bullet homing issues
  • Hitmarkers of bosses move with the animations
  • Is valid checks to object references
  • Damage VFX follow the animations of the boss

Build Improvements

After the last playtest we decided to change to 3 hitzones instead of 4 (which can already be seen on the previous build video and this build video. This solved a lot of tracking issues, and it made it easier for the player to anticipate where an attack would hit. In addition, we tried making the card attack more clear by adding VFX as feedback and card textures for feed forward so player could more easily understand the attack. We also added VFX as feedback when the player hit the teapot. This made the effect of the magic clearer and it was more clear that the enemy was affected by the player's attack. Lastly, we added a lot more VFX to make certain attacks look more threatening and more assets to make the game more immersive.
